Well, hello there! Remember me? I know, it’s been a while since I’ve blogged. I won’t bore you with the details of how crazy my life suddenly became at the beginning of this year. But I kept crafting, my friends, because it is the one activity that has always enabled me to escape from the real world, find a little peace, and calm my mind. I feel grateful every time I do it. But I also love sharing it with others, and I’ve missed that recently. So now felt like the perfect time for me to jump back on my metaphorical horse and… BLOG AGAIN! Ha, ha. Wanna see some masculine birthday cards I made? Oh yes, that’s right, ladies… men like cards too!

I fell in love with the “He’s The Man” Suite from Stampin’ Up! the second I saw it. It doesn’t just have one theme… it has all of them! Barbecues, cars, tools, camping, clothing, beer and deer. All the stuff men love! (We’re really not that complicated.) I made a lot of cards using this set. A lot! I picked out my favorites to share.

Of all the papers, the one with the ties and glasses is my favorite. The color combination of tan, black and white make for such a simple and classy feel. The black banner on the “Hello Handsome” card is a die cut that I heat embossed “Happy Birthday” on using white embossing powder.

Don’t you just love the colors of this camping paper? And look how well the die cuts work with it. I like stacking embellishments for a collage-type look.

When you’re making masculine birthday cards, some must have cars on them. I think it’s a law or something.

This “4 rectangle” design is one I used for a class. I had leftovers so I made some alternate designs. You can create a ton of different looks with this layout, and it’s a great way to use up small pieces of patterned paper.

Here are some more of my favorite cards. Check out the mask I used to create the background on the “You’re Flippin’ Awesome” card. I’ll be doing an entire post on those masks soon. They are so much fun!

I hope you enjoyed the cards and they inspired you in some way to do something, whatever that thing may be. Keep on crafting, my friends. Until next time (and I promise the next time won’t take so long to come) be kind to others, but don’t forget to be kindest to yourself. Peace.      ~Steve
